Bladder snails are a great addition to any planted tank or pond. They rid your aquarium of uneaten food, dead or decaying plant matter, algae buildup, debris and detritis.
Juvenile snails handle shipping much better than adults. As for their color, they will change in appearance as they grow. Within the next month they will be roughly 3-4 times this size.
When well fed they can grow to be the size of a dime. Maximum size will be based on water quality. To keep them healthy and growing, a weekly meal of a few small blanched vegetables (Zucchini, Cucumber, Green Beans or Leafy Greens) is highly recommended. This gives the snails the calcium needed for optimal shell growth.
Once a snail population has established, make sure to remove any casualties, over time this will lead to an ammonia spike.
These snails will lay gelatinous clutches of eggs on any hard surfaces soon after being added to your tank or small pond. The Bladder snail's life expectancy is 8 months to 2 years.
